Alchemy Items

Crafted items are prefixed with the crafter's name in blue text, e.g. Koko's Blue Potion. If the crafter is deleted, their name is replaced by "Nameless" in red text instead, e.g. Nameless's Blue Potion. Within the player's inventory, and within storage, the player crafted items use a new stack to differentiate them from other items e.g. Koko's Blue Potion and Blue Potion are presented as two different stacks. When used via hotkey, the items are consumed in sequential order within the player's inventory. With this exception, crafted items are identical to their non-crafted counterparts e.g. may be used in quests and craft recipes.

Alchemy Process

Crafting is initiated by casting Prepare Potion. The base success chance is item dependent. The comprehensive alchemy craft formula is presented below.

success_chance = base_chance + 3 * prepare_potion_lv + potion_research_lv / 2 + instruction_change_lv + job_lv / 5 + dex / 10 + luk / 10 + int / 20 if child: success_chance = success_chance * 7 / 10

Alchemy Recipes

Prepare Potion recipes are determined by the presence of the respective crafting manual, or guide, within the player's inventory. Guides are not consumed and only one guide is needed to use the corresponding recipe.

Ranked Alchemists

Rank Bonus

Potions crafted by a ranked Alchemist gain a 50% recovery bonus. This bonus is multiplicative with other modifiers and is limited to potions directly consumed, i.e. not through skill catalysts or other means. This bonus is applied to all Alchemist potions including potions crafted before they became ranked. Similarly, should the Alchemist become unranked, all crafted potions lose this bonus until they restore their ranked status.

Rank Process

The top 10 Alchemists with the most points are considered "ranked". The current top 10 Alchemists may be displayed through the /alchemist command. Alchemists obtain points by successfully crafting condensed potions in sequence, with more points being attributed for a larger sequence. A sequence of 3, 5, 7, and 10 condensed potions yields +1, +5, +10, and +50 points respectively. This behavior results in an exponential return with respect to success rate, as detailed by the following table. A failed condensed potion craft attempt resets the sequence, however crafting (successfully or unsuccessfully) other items does not.
