Trap Interactions

Fire Pillar produces a temporary trap object with a 1x1 AoE and a 1 cell splash radius. When an enemy enters the AoE, the trap triggers, producing a secondary effect and is then dispelled. This secondary effect is produced once, regardless of how many enemies simultaneously trigger a trap. A trap is triggered whenever its AoE collides with an enemy, regardless of its position relative to the user, and may be considered to have infinite range.

Unlike Hunter traps, Wizard trap range placement is restricted by the server rather than the client.

Trap Behavior

If Fire Pillar is not triggered before its duration expires, the trap is dispelled.

Fire Pillar cannot be targeted but can be attacked by Sightrasher and Sight Blaster. When attacked this way, Fire Pillar can be damaged and knocked back.

Trap Mechanics

When triggered, Fire Pillar inflicts fire magic damage to enemies in an AoE. Below lv 6, Fire Pillar does not consume a catalyst and inflicts damage in a 3x3 AoE when triggered. At level 6 and higher, it does consume a catalyst and inflicts damage in a 7x7 AoE instead. Fire Pillar damage consists of a magical and skill level components, however damage is inflicted as a single "magical" attack. The magical component scales with MATK and skill level. The skill level component scales with skill level.

Soul Link

If empowered by a Soul Link, Fire Pillar does not require a skill catalyst.

NPC Errata
